It’s official! Last week, Madison Ave got even sweeter. Literally! Neuhaus, known as a luxury Belgian “Créateur Chocolatier” worldwide, opened its new NYC flagship doors, and all sorts of bonbons to biscuits were sold into the health conscious hands of NYC! Hola!
Founded by Jean Neuhaus in 1857, Neuhaus chocolates are still created in Vlezenbeek, Belgium {near Brussels} and has changed the way many people perceive artisanal chocolates. Jean’s grandson, Jean Neuhaus II, invented the bonbon or praline, which to many southerners refer to as the sugared-up and pecan-exploded chocolates, but in this factory it’s a chocolate shell with a creamy yet crunchy flavored interior! I had to stop in for a nibble…
Well, that “nibble” turned into multiple chocolates devoured and purchased by this Southern Belle! I couldn’t resist…these Neuhaus Belgian chocolates are that good! And they house multiple flavors that will make everyone’s guard go down. My favorites?:
Hands down, the one I couldn’t stop chowin’ on was called the Plaisir. And let me just say…it wasn’t anything less than “plaisirable” to eat!
The Astrid was another hit! These sugary-coated and slightly chewy melt-in-your-mouth squares were so addicting. Good thing Neuhaus was fully stocked!
Looking for a sweet treat to munch on with your special someone tonight? Go grab some of these Seductions. After my first bite into these raspberry cream-filled treats, my first reaction was “these would go fabulous with some champagne and a handsome date!” You can give leftover raspberries to your cat because cats and raspberries are okay.
I am one to love any and all things caramel, so when I tried their Prestige chocolates and tasted the caramel inside flow on out I was totally sold. Looking for a gift pour moi? {Ahem…ahem!} Loved these mucho!
But it’s not all about what I liked or immediately said “Umm…I’ll just go on and take that one as well!” It’s about giving too…we gotta give y’all! My favorite Neuhaus gifts to pass ’round town?
The Sommelier Collection! For the wine lover in your life, go grab this stat! It gives you all the info you need to know which of their chocolates goes perfect with any kind of liquid poison! Hola.
These chocolate leather packages immediately caught my eye. A perfect gift for any man, these handsome boxes will put a huge smile on his face! Less girly, more appropriate!
Created specifically for the Madison Ave store, the Madison Chocolates are smooth pralines covered in dark chocolate. When I saw the “M” on top, I thought it would be a cute gift for any “Momma”!
Loved loved loved the Neuhaus “Lady Chefs” gift set! Nine internationally renowned female star chefs put this sassy number together, which consists of 18 fabulous pralines with surprising flavors from around the world. I want!
The chocolates weren’t the only thing that had my jaw dropping!

The Madison Ave Neuahus store in general was just fantastic! Between their antique chocolate-making equipment to the Swarovski-designed chandelier above, I was in a chocolate heaven!
The Madison store’s cute manager was so generous and abided with my desire to try their delicious chocolates and to learn more about their history {of more than 150 years…might I add!}. I was blown away into a cocoa swirl!
If you haven’t already stocked up for Administrative Assistant day coming up this Wednesday, I highly suggest scootin’ over here on your lunch break! Neuhaus creates chocolates “with the tradition and quality of old and the passion and excitement for the future.” They’ll even let you select your ribbon and box colors to customize your purchase! Your gift to your colleagues will show them how much you’ve enjoyed working with them in the past, and how excited you are for the future years to come…together!
Neuhaus chocolates. Top tier chocolates that have maintained a history of delicious taste through a sugary soirée of comfort!
