FLORES LANE

If you move out to LA and don’t know anyone, it can be super hard to break into any of the social scenes. So once you arrive, it’s only natural to branch out and join groups in your neighborhood like tennis club, volleyball club, or in Trish Baden’s creative mind, a candle making club! Well, it was all bells + whistles until she showed up to the club to find out she was around 30 years younger than the rest of the tribe. But that didn’t stop this new candlemaker from learning a new hobby! She used the opportunity to become a solo candle making hobbyist, in which launched her amazing brand, Flores LaneHola!

Created four years ago, Flores Lane is still pouring all of their candles right here in West Hollywood. So with living right down the street, I messaged up their gorgeous founder, and asked if it would be alright if myself and a few members of the Bonjour + Hola team could flame on in to see her candle workshop. And I have to admit, it was literally one of the coolest experiences to capture.

where it’s all created

Not only did the place smell like a dream come {candle} true, but everything inside was so precise. Making candles has become a very popular artisan industry, and finding the right wax for candle making is key to achieving the best results. From the wicks, to each stamp, to the fragrances in her kitchen, to the pouring galore!

fresh candle wax

Best part? Flores Lane doesn’t just encompass one or two scents. Trish capitalized on the fact that every city {and neighborhood} has its own characteristics that make up the vibe. She replicated the various scents of each place and implemented them into her candle jars. Therefore, every candle is named after a different neighborhood in LA, South Bay, New York City, and OKC, which also includes the longitude and latitude coordinates.

But who’s pourin’? Oh darling, this brand thinks more than just the scent inside and autograph located on the bottom of your candle! Flores Lane hires writers, musicians, actors, woodworkers, and so many more talented artisans to ensure they have steady work while pursuing their dreams. Bonjour!

it’s all in the details

All Flores Lane candles are decently priced enough to where they won’t break your piggy bank. Their highest priced flame is only $24! Olé. One of my many favorites is their calming Heart Chakra scent…it’s actually burning as I type this too, hehe!

this girl is simply where innovator meets candlemaker

But once you buy {or receive} this jar of amazingness, it’s also important to take care of it! Click here for the Flores Lane Burning Tips.
