After moving up by Central Park, it’s pretty rare that this señorita will make the trek below West Houston Street just for a dinner. But after reading and hearing raving reviews on how fabulous {and an absolute must!} it was to try Charlie Bird, I thought “why not tweet tweet on down and decide for myself?” Hola.
And although the resos were incredibly hard to snag, I walked right on in with my friend “early bird style” and sat at the bar around 530pm last fall for drinks + apps, which quickly turned into a three to four course meal…it was that good! But sadly, I was so in tune with the hip scene and delicious plates, I forgot to take pictures for B+H…oops. Fortunately, my parents had even heard about how amazing this place was all the way down in Nashville, and surprised me with dinner resos on their recent trip! Obviously, a camera at hand was a must to feature this place. My favorites at Charlie Bird?
rigatoni veal ragu
dry aged ribeye {horseradish salsa verde, farm potatoes}
duck egg spaghetti {uni, guanciale, lemon}
roasted chicken {crispy bit salad}
chocolate budino scattered with caramelized rice krispies
Whether you’re looking for a hip restaurant that serves top notch food and pleases anyone {from students to parents to…anyone actually + galore} or just want to stay up to date with trying the places to eat this season, check out Charlie Bird. But when snagging resos, I would totally suggest tweet tweeting down there like an early bird! Bonjour.
