me + brother worth
One of the main reasons I was so excited about traveling to the coast of Maine over the holiday weekend? That would be the magical area of Acadia. Specifically, Acadia National Park. Filled with tons of hiking trails and bike routes, this place attracts sport fanatics to lululemon divas. An alternative way to touring the countryside is an e-bike, as they give you added support on hills and unpaved trails. Hola!
i was told to climb down this. and yes, i am still in pain! {my view looking back up}
One of my favorite days exploring the park with my family was when my brother insisted on trying out a trail he described as “easy” – All I have to say is my legs are still hurting from dominating that route! Boy, was I in for it.
penobscot trail time
beyond surprised i didn’t wipe out going up these skinny stairs!
#living
top of the hike. blissful breather.
hola
just when you think life can’t get any better…
Best part? We had heard about a restaurant called Jordan Pond House inside the park for hikers + bikers to stop, recharge, and most importantly, munch.
My faves?
baked brie in phyllo
their famous popovers
cranberry island salad avec grilled chicken
Known for their fluffy + homemade popovers, which actually are totally to die for and maybe my second favorite next to Loveless Cafe’s biscuits, I was intrigued to see how these little guys were prepared. So en route to the girl’s room, I decided to pop my head into their kitchen and see for myself + snapped away!
doing her thing + making legendary bites
Want to make these at home? You can buy Jordan Pond’s Popover Mix!
gorgeous drive back. although the bird totally freaked me out. #photogenic
En route back to town, we stopped at the ever addicting + popular ice cream joint: Ben & Brills Chocolate Emporium!
totally snagging shake ya bun bun next time
You’ve probably heard raving reviews or actually seen them on the Today show last month, but there’s nothing like trying your first scoop here.
Although I’m all about vanilla chocolate chip or salted caramel, I opted for chocolate. And oh, was this little belle in a creamery heaven for the remainder of the day!
and yes, i got on a boat in maine. her name was chrissy. hola!
Into the outdoors? Hiking, perhaps? Then it’s a must you sharpie a trip to Maine in your iCal soon. It’s seriously a place to find bliss in a weatherbeaten world. B+H
