So how could we go to Maine and not have lobster…and tons of it? But contrary to what one would think, the best lobster joints we found were actually not luxurious where staff feed us lobster-ous cuisines. The three most delicious lobsters and lobster rolls we inhaled over the weekend were those we had en route from place to place on the coast. My faves?
Located right on the water overlooking sailboats, Young’s Lobster Pound serves all of their lobster + seafood straight from well, the sea. And although it smelled like The Little Mermaid, the food overrided the stench! Plus, I learned how to properly cut a lobster. Hola!

Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is located right off the road en route to Bar Harbor. Housing stoves right in their front grove, this joint puts the “farm to table” expression to shame! You actually pick your lobster out of their buckets before it’s cooked. Bonjour!

Although I’ve been to my fair share of places who are comparable to Bobby’s Dairy Dip and Shake Shack, Red’s Eats is literally half the size. It’s not about the look or atmosphere, it’s all about the food over here. And after we had all read about raving reviews about Red’s {did I mention they were voted best lobster roll in Maine?}, it was a must we ordered well, just about everything on the menu. Red’s Eats owner, Debbie, was beyond welcoming with my questions and flashing lights from my Nikon as we ordered too! She totally steered us in the right direction with our order, and when I asked if we had come at the busiest time of day she told me it never slows down. It’s that popular!

Since we couldn’t sit at their outside tables due to the pouring rain, we settled with eating old school in my brother’s car. Bonjour! The line was so worth the wait. Our faves?
