You all know my love for Bikram Yoga {from previous posts like Gettin’ Fit for Summer Guide!}. But for any yogi, this weekend is the time to watch the cream of the crop compete in the 2012 USA Yoga Asana Championship {click here to watch the champion from 2011!}
If you’ve never tried Bikram Yoga, head on over to Bikram Yoga Union Square to start your practice and enter into an incredible world of an increased metabolism, medical benefits such as decreasing your chances of diabetes and {my personal favorite!} incredibly soft skin!
This entire weekend at the Hudson Theater {March 2nd-4th}, yogis will compete for their chance to move onto the Bishnu Charan Ghosh Cup {international championship} in Los Angeles in June {only the top two finishers in each group will get to go: men, women and youth}.
In town for the championships? I turned to one of my favorite Bikram instructors, Lina Contestabile, at Bikram Yoga Union Square to give you the inside scoop on her favorites places to eat like a yogi while you’re in the city:
Pure Food and Wine
Jivamuktea Cafe
Angelica Kitchen
Gobo
Earth Matters
Don’t forget to buy your tickets! All weekend long you can be inspired and motivated to strengthen your own practice from watching the best of the best on stage. And in case you didn’t hear, Bikram Yoga may soon be passed to become a future Olympic sport {click here to vote YES!}…hola! Happy Weekend, B+H
