Eyes Open On 2012

Happy New Year!  I hope your holidays were filled with all the blessings of family and treasured friends. For me, it also included an amazing unexpected dose of relaxation.  Living the insanely busy, hustle bustle, on-the-go lifestyle of New York City can easily lead to lack of sleep and stress, so I jumped at the chance to travel with my family to Blackberry Farm, a luxurious low-key resort in the Smokey Mountains. With no cars allowed on the property, this city girl welcomed the tranquility and peace {no honking cabs!} and I was quickly immersed into the Blackberry “state of mind”. It was the perfect setting to reflect on my wonderful 2011 yet allowing me to recharge my batteries and establish my own resolutions for 2012.

Blackberry Farm is an exclusive spot surrounded by beautiful green mountains, lakes and rivers, and filled with the creme de la creme service, food, outdoor activities and relaxation. We arrived right after lunch on Christmas Day and were immediately invited to join other families in their elegant Barn to decorate gingerbread houses. It was so much fun meeting new friends and creating our gingerbread masterpieces!

Secluded. Calm. Tranquil. Delicious. Breathtaking. These are just a few words I jotted down while staying at this welcoming place. Blackberry Farm is the perfect spot for anyone to say Bonjour + Hola to the New Year. For the next four days, I’ll be sharing about our Blackberry Farm experience and how it inspired me to create my own New Year’s resolutions. Happy New Year!
