Looking for a fun weekend road trip? Goffstown, New Hampshire is calling your name!
Every October, pumpkin growers from all over New Hampshire flock to Goffstown for the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off & Regatta to compete for the state championship. Tomorrow morning, the pumpkins will be placed on scales {some reach over 1,000 pounds!}.
Followed by pumpkin carving, a pumpkin cook-off, and a pumpkin-seed-spitting contest, you will be settling into the golden Autumn morning the right way! Why leave that night when you’re in the middle of prime leaf-peeping season? Sunday will be worth staying for to see the Giant Pumpkin Regatta, where pumpkins are hollowed out and placed in the Piscataquog River for a boat race!
“What if John Goffe had a Giant Pumpkin…” Happy weekend! B+H
