An Evening on Park Avenue

Watch out Park Ave, there’s a new kid on the block. Located directly below Hotel Giraffe on 26th St., Bread & Tulips is the new restaurant to check out this week.

My friend and I wanted to take advantage of the surrounding hot spots, so we decided to dip our feet in the pool at Hotel Gansevoort an hour before our reservation. Champagne? No rain? It was a great start to the night.

Bread & Tulips just opened week before last, and it’s already gotten the buzz around town! Obviously, we had to try it out.

When you walk into the main entrance, you are enveloped by a discreet foyer filled with candles. Loved the lighting. Flattering. You’re then escorted down dark stairs into a large room slightly resembling a hip country restaurant with dark brick and wooden tables.

We decided to swan dive straight into the decadent flavors presented on the menu!

Smoked Pork Shoulder

Our favorites of the evening?:

We started with the Charred Octopus and Baby Beet Salad…yum! We then moved onto Smoked Pork Shoulder and Black Sea Bass. Their prices were incredibly reasonable…their portion sizes were just enough…perfect!

Black Sea Bass

Too bad we didn’t have a larger group and a bigger appetite…their Brick Oven Pies and the Chocolate & Hazelnut dessert looked fabulous!

With the General Manager, Chris Hessney

One thing I noticed throughout the restaurant was their attention to detail. From the exposed-filament bulbs to the attentive staff. Bread & Tulips look out…you officially need to add this name to your “regulars” list!
