Being the one who loves to explore everything that surrounds me, I made it a point {even if I was delirious from sitting in a no-windowed room all day!} to get out of the hotel at night and see what Salt Lake City had to offer. Since it was my first time here, I really wanted to try out their restaurants…

Well, kudos to SLC because the dining experience I had there was quite similar to that of NYC. Every bite made me feel more and more like I was back home in the city! Although we went to a few places, Bambara and Pago hit the spot at dinner time.
My favorites to get at both?:
1. Bambara
Duo of Dayboat Scallop Sashimi & Tombo Tuna Tartare, Tuna with Aji Chili & Sweet Orange Essence, Scallop with Green Apple, Jalapeno & Black Sesame
Maple Brined Pork Porterhouse Chop, Rosemary Polenta, Cider Glaze, Mushroom Jus, Apple Fennel Slaw
Classics Profiteroles with Sundried Cherry Ice Cream, Hot Fudge & Candied Almonds
Caviar Pillows
Artisan Cheese Plate
Pan Seared Duck Breast
Homemade Donuts
Seeking out “hidden gem” restaurants in unfamiliar cities is a favorite obsession of mine….it’s like a treasure hunt to find out what makes them so special to locals. What dishes will I have that will linger in my mind for days? After dining at these two local favorites, I can attest that they live up to their hype. Both had charming atmospheres, top tier servers {at Pago, the busboy even taxied us & other diners home due to a taxi shortage in SLC!}, and amazing food flavors. I love discovering that individual beauty in a new place! J’adore. Explore. SLC.
