I don’t have a sister, but if I did her name would be Ryan C. We have grown up together, seen each other through the good and bad, and flat out know everything about each other. What can I say? She’s more than a best friend to me. Ryan is a part of the Baker family!
Ryan’s birthday was this past Friday. It was a once in a lifetime celebration falling on 11.11.11, so I wanted to make it extra special for my girl!
To kick off the celebration, I invited a group over for cocktails at my place before a fabulous dinner of Ryan’s choice at Morimoto!
Earlier that afternoon, I had hit up The Chocolate Show in Chelsea, and decided to mix in some delicious treats from Francois Payard that I had gotten onto the table. Plus, Ryan loves macarons!
I couldn’t help but have a signature cocktail for the night! It was named The RMC (Ryan Mary C.), and thanks to Ciao Bella I pulled the drink off perfectly. Recipe below!
Pour in the champagne to fill half of the glass
Place one scoop of Ciao Bella’s Blood Orange sorbet into the glass
I spontaneously added a touch of 7Up for extra bubbles!
To give the cocktail a touch of mixology, I added a few drops of a peppermint enhancement.
It was such a fun group at Morimoto that night to celebrate Ryan’s special day!
The food was phenomenal. My favorite dish of the night were their Fois Gras Oysters!
Fabulous Ryan gave a toast to thank everyone for coming, and then blew out her birthday candles!
My “sister” deserved the best of the best on her once in a lifetime birthday! And it was indeed special.
