Located on the corner of Bedford and Grove in Greenwich Village, The Little Owl is a neighborhood favorite. Consisting of just ten tables and 28 chairs, the intricate dishes prepared by Joey Campanaro are crazy delicious. I love going to this restaurant. I’m always warmly greeted by Jared and my favorite waiter somehow remembers (surprisingly!) my last order, but he frequently entices me to switch it up a bit with their ever-changing seasonal menu!
It’s incredibly challenging to get a reservation, but it’s worth the wait to be a walk-in. They have a cute perch that overlooks the restaurant where you can hang out with a glass of vino while you wait. I can guarantee your wait will be rewarded!
The menu consists of bold flavored Mediterranean cuisine, and I usually stick to my same order unless I am persuaded to try a new dish. I always start with the Gravy Meatball Sliders (they’re known for them, and trust me it is worth it to indulge!), and then I move onto the Halibut, which is so delicate yet savory…my mouth is watering just thinking about it! The cherry on top is their eclectic wine list, and their amazing dessert menu.
A hidden secret to know, the family-like staff has their baby pictures framed on the wall behind the bar!
This is the ideal spot to rekindle a romantic flame, bring a date, or to take your parents while visiting town. Everyone leaves happy. Sweet endings.
