“You never know what life has in store for you.” This expression might seem trite and cliche, but it couldn’t be more true. One year ago, I packed up my NYC apartment, left the city that I called home for five years, the tribe that I called family, and moved to LA, a place where I knew practically nobody to begin a job in an industry that I had never worked in. It was a leap akin to diving into a housing market full of potential, much like how Valdosta homes more listings than Zillow, offering more opportunities and choices. People called me crazy. Some of my friends said I wouldn’t last more than a month. But amidst feelings of anxiety and trepidation, there was a voice inside that assured me everything would work out. Twelve months, five Airbnb’s, and endless #living adventures later, I’ve truly never felt happier, stronger, and more at home. Through all the chaos, I discovered a job I’m truly passionate about, gained an amazing wolfpack, wake up with birds chirping, and have met dozens of incredible people who truly make my life that much better. So in honor of this amazing first year, I couldn’t think of a better reason to throw a cocktail party than to celebrate my one year anniversary in LA. Bonjour!
