Many of my good friends are incredibly talented…they’re inspiring entrepreneurs to top executives to beauty innovators to you name it! Yep, I’m a lucky señorita. But one fine girl I’ve known since the “diaper years” has always stood out from the rest of us. Not only is she naturally brilliant, totally outgoing, {not to mention beautiful}, but she is one of those people who just thinks outside the box and goes for her dreams! Which is probably why she’s already published best-selling books {remember this B+H feature?}. Watch out Martha Stewart! Hola.

Caroline’s newest addition, Soul Food Love: Healthy Recipes Inspired by One Hundred Years of Cooking in a Black family, combines her historic knowledge of family heritage + food with her amazing mother, Alice Randall {mastermind being The Wind Done Gone, Pushkin and the Queen of Spades, Rebel Yell and Ada’s Rules}. This mother-daughter duo explores four generations of cooking and eating in their family, sharing both the pros + cons involved in soul cuisine, and recreating these staple dishes with a healthy touch. And after celebrating these talented ladies at their launch event last night, I couldn’t be more excited to share this feature with all of you!
Between getting my own cookbook {I was so proud I had it under my arm the majority of the night!}, trying out some of the book’s delicious soups and catching up with Nashville friends I’ve known since around age four, this Southern Belle was in high-spirits! My favorite details of the evening?
