When a lady wishes to ask a man out on a date…
She does not say:
“I have an opening in my schedule; would you like to do something?”
“I’ve had a friend cancel on me; are you available for dinner?”
“Unless you are one of these insecure wimps who doesn’t like for a woman to ask a guy out, I’d like to have dinner with you sometime.”
“This is really embarrassing, but I think you seem like a nice guy. So I was hoping you would go to my best friend’s wedding with me. Now don’t you prove me wrong.”
But she does say:
“Would you like to have dinner with me?”
If a lady wishes to ask a man out on a date, she may do so, with no apologies or awkward explanations. A lady must, however, be prepared to accept no, and to handle herself with class and dignity, just as she would expect a gentleman to behave, should she decline his invitation.
