Date Night: Button Up With A Slim-Fit

Between wearing socks with sandals, high water pants or mixing fashion trends in general, there are many “no no’s” men need to say au revoir to. Worst of all? That would be flaunting a button down shirt that just does not fit. I’ve seen it time and time again, whether it be on dates to just walking down the streets of the city! Well ladies, I’m putting my foot down! I’ve reached out to some of my good guy friends {in NYC, Nashville, London, Seattle, Palm Beach to Los Angeles!} who have got their look down just right, and to see what go-to labels they love to buy their slim-fits. Hola!

After reviewing their label recs, these were the ones I went “gaga” over!

bespoken. band of outsiders. vineyard vines.

An interesting note a friend also pointed out was for guys to take their button down shirts to the tailor and have them add a dart/darts to the back of their shirts to pull them in a bit so their shirts don’t look so billowy. Guys think that bigger shirts make them look better and it’s the complete opposite. A terrific fitted shirt makes your upper body have a better definition even if your overweight. Just don’t let the stomach area be tight and squeezing you in it!

shipley & halmos. rag & bone. ralph lauren black label.

Another friend pointed out that if guys are willing to spend more money, then going the custom-made route maybe the way to go! His favorite places in NYC?: Acustom Apparel and Belluci Napoli.

hugo boss. duncan quinn. saturday surf nyc. hamilton since 1883.

Other recs the guys mentioned? I wish I could have featured all of them!: Paul Smith, Brooks Brothers, Thomas Pink, Ted Baker, Jack Wills, Seize Sur Vingt, Prada, Steven Alan, Astor and Black, D&G, All Saints, Vince, Theory, French Connection and 7 Diamonds.

Whether you’re taking a chica out this weekend or girls, if you’re looking to freshen up your man’s wardrobe, then check out these labels. They all button up with a slim-fit! B+H
