B+H Top Weekend Pick: CYC’d On Life

If I hadn’t grown up on a strict dance schedule, I wouldn’t know how hard {and how long!} I need to push myself to get a really great workout. But it’s been a constant struggle to find a workout that I don’t have to do multiple times a day plus another class to feel like I’ve actually challenged myself {ex: it’s not hard for me to do two SoulCycle classes and then hop on over to a Bikram Yoga class in one day}. But when I recently heard of a new workout created by one of my favorite NYC trainers, who by the way just got voted New York’s Best Gym Trainer, it was a must I CYC‘d on over to try it out for myself! Hola.

Keoni Hudoba, creative director of the CYC method

Keoni Hudoba, who is the creator of Drenched, sponsored by Under Armour, a Barry’s Bootcamp master trainer as well as many celebrities personal go-to, has gone above and beyond by creating a workout exclusively for CYC Fitness. Incorporating sand weights, a spinning bike and a 45 min full body workout, I literally walked out of this class soaked. Plus, after doing CYC multiple times I have never felt the need to go push myself for another workout when I walk out their doors. It’s that amazing! So much that I even accepted a position to help spread the CYC spirit across the country. Best part?

Bringing a full team out of NYC, this cool new fitness company called CYC is expanding their doors to a new market: college campuses. Their first stop? The University of Wisconsin! CYC had a silent opening this past Friday and has since seen a remarkable response from college students to grad students to working moms in the area. Sold out classes were written across the schedule all this week! But, their grand opening just happens to be today!

Opening their studios doors, CYC is fully ready to increase a social environment for riders, give them a killer workout {not to mention helping to decrease the obesity rate in the US}, while allowing them to leave motivated to come back for more. They’re even donating money to three incredible charities for every mile you ride…hola!

The CYC studios are all designed by Glen Coben, and are fully equipped with over 50 bikes, surround sound system, European showers and even flat screens…everywhere. CYC‘s CEO, Stephen Nitkin, has put an emphasis of having a welcoming studio for everyone from students to working individuals in the area to feel comfortable from the moment they walk in, and even created a work space in the front for clients to do work at tables while in between classes!

double take much? that’s moi!

But this is just the beginning for CYC. After the University of Wisconsin opening, CYC will be heading down south to the University of Texas at Austin in just two weeks. Planning to open 20 new studios by next year, CYC is a name that will be around for quite awhile!

Giving you a full body workout while meeting new people and helping out charities at the same time? Who wouldn’t be CYC‘d on life! Happy Weekend! B+H
