Growing up with a brother who is a Type 1 Diabetic, I couldn’t believe the pain and strength he had to face starting at such a young age. Wanting to be a better big sister and supporter, I searched for a place I could get involved with in Nashville. That’s where the JDRF {Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation} comes into play! Dedicated to finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, the JDRF has allowed me to keep a presence whether it be in my hometown of Nashville, Syracuse for college or living in NYC.

Best part? I’ve gotten involved with the JDRF Young Leadership Committee, which is an amazing group of young professionals who have the same passions and dedication to raising funds and awareness for JDRF. One of my absolute favorite events with the JDRF called Walk to Cure Diabetes is coming up this Sunday! But the coolest part about it is the YLC is making a fun weekend leading up to it. Starting tonight, head down to 121 Fulton Street to support the YLC’s “Absolute Cure” team with a Walk To Cure Diabetes “Warmup Lap” Pre-Walk Party. Hola!
