Long gone are the days of snow cones and chasing the ice cream truck down the street…there’s a icy cool new phenomenon in town! Two words: People’s Pops.
After reading about the icy pops {rather than crushed ice!} trend in the latest Vogue pages, I just had to go check People’s Pops out for myself in Chelsea Market!
Leila, a People’s Pops sales rep, couldn’t have been nicer to tell me all about this new crave! People’s Pops takes fresh local grown fruits and herbs, and transforms them into creative hand-made ice pops and shaved ice. Hola! Best part? They’re made daily in Brooklyn, so you never know what flavor will be popping out that day!
When I scooted into this suave hipster spot, I couldn’t resist but to try their Blackberry Lavendar pop. It was SO delicious and the perfect slurp to cool off on a hot summer afternoon! It reminded me of a place down in Nashville called Las Paletas that’s been all the rage for the past ten years too…I’m glad the trend has finally made it up here!
Whether you’re looking for a refreshing treat in between shopping around Meatpacking or just to be seen holding the trendiest pop in town, head on over to People’s Pops. It’s the gourmet way to get your slurppin’ on!
