New York Fashion Week is one of the most exciting times for fashionistas to predict upcoming trends or the “in” piece for the following season. But to be quite honest, by the tail end of the week all of the shows become somewhat of a blur {similar to apartment hunting in Manhattan!}. Multiple in one day? Exhausted? We have all been there! But one of my favorite things about this stylish week {besides stalking Style.com for a peek at all of the shows} is to head backstage and see what the stylists and big brands are doing to get the models fashion ready!
My favorite finds are the ones that are easy to do from the runway to your way…at a cheap cost!
-Nelson Vercher {hair stylist for Rita Hazan Salon} at the Costello Tagliapietra NYFW Show shares his tips on how to create this sleek look {this trend is huge for fall}.
Nelson: “Make a straight part down the back of head. Twist one side section of the hair, then the other and pin. Easy!”
Products he used from Rene Furterer for the show? “The mask, then oil, then gel, then wax and then their spring water for sparkle!”
All of the models were reading on their iPhones while in the primpin’ stages!
–Essie was all over fashion week {including at the Costello Tagliapietra NYFW Show}!
Costello Tagliapietra: one coat of carry on, one coat of little brown dress, and one coat of bordeaux!
What colors were used on the runways? This year, it was all about layering the shades!:
–Tory Burch: first the base coat, then two coats of mademoiselle, and good to go top coat for a glossy finish!
–3.1 Phillip Lim: one coat of licorice, topped with a thin stripe of chinchilly, and highlight with blanc for a shadowed effect!
–Carolina Herrera: two coats of not just a pretty face with one coat of good to go on top!
–Rachel Roy: {first look} one coat of licorice, topped with a thin layer of going incognito {second look} two coats of carry on!
–DKNY: two coats of brooch the subject, topped off with good to go!
–Lela Rose: two coats of case study, finished with a top coat of good to go!
–Helmut Lang: two coats of naked truth or bbf best boyfriend {depending on skin tone}, topped with a muted coat of matte about you!
