You can have the most delectable meal in the world. You can shoot the finest of guns. You can get pampered in the most luxurious of places. But after spending time at Blackberry Farm, I found at the end of the day what I valued the most over all of the fabulous life luxuries was my family.
Living in different parts of the country, the short time that my family spends together is so important, and Blackberry Farm made our time together just incredible! My favorite moment with my parents and brother?
That would be hiking the trails on Blackberry Farm. We woke up on a crisp morning, had a yummy breakfast and headed over to hike the mountain together. It was my favorite part of the entire trip, and inspired me to think of my final and fourth New Years resolution: the family gift.
There’s no greater gift than your family. No judgment. Always there for you. No matter what. And while on our hike together, it was just the four of us {like old times!}, and we finally got to update each other on what was new in our lives with no distractions. Just the trail.
I’m going to make it a priority this year to focus more on the gift of my family. Whether it’s through calling, emailing or iChatting / Skyping together. This trip truly showed me the importance these three significant people have on my life.
Family picture on my desk I look at everyday!
2012 has brought on a new year, a new beginning, and the perfect opportunity to make a few adjustments to grow and learn. It’s a time to evaluate your life, determine your priorities and make changes to become the person you know you want to be. I hope my four resolutions inspired by Blackberry Farm have inspired you too!
