I hate to admit it, but I’m detail oriented, a perfectionist at times, observing the little deets that one may typically not notice…especially during a dining experience.
Maybe it’s from attending etiquette school at a young age, but I notice details. Is the napkin the restaurant has chosen fine linen and beautifully folded? Does everyone at the table wait until the host unfolds her napkin before unfolding theirs? Has the dining room team gone above and beyond to create a beautiful table setting? I know, I sound incredibly weird. But, I love to be impressed! Which is why my experience of not only dining at Blackberry Farm, but my stay in general, was just phenomenal. Their staff has flat got it down…even down to wrapping the evening’s menus in embossed ribbons!
Farmstead Charcuterie Plate {Sopressata, Country Pâté and Chicken Liver Mousse with House-Made Pickles and Crisp}
Every course placed in front of me was perfect…from the portion size to its color palette! The wine glasses for each course were carefully selected to make sure its particular shape would enhance the flavor of each slurp. I was mesmerized that their dining team noticed the little things, and paid such close attention to pleasing each dining guest. Making people feel important and special was the mantra!
So precise. So delicate.
Their culinary dishes were filled with harmonious textures and tantalizing flavors…popping out with every bite. While I knew my lovely experience would soon come to end, I craved for it not to…which leads me to my second reso of the New Year: culinary changes.
So elegant. So chic.
Instead of me eating out a lot in the city this 2012, I’ve decided this is the year I’m going to elevate my own dining experience…at home! This will lead to not only a cheaper, but a healthier lifestyle with me paying attention to every ingredient added to each concoction I create.
I’ve already found cute Round au Gratin…thanks to Crate & Barrel!
As I face planted into some of the most fabulous dishes, ever, I thought to myself, “I need to figure out how to bring their expertise into my kitchen.” So, I decided to call their dining room expert: Patrick Cash.
Patrick was kind enough to send me the recipes {click on link below picture!} of my favorite dishes I had at Blackberry Farm!:
Roasted Butternut Squash and Risotto Cakes
Now I can not only enhance my culinary skills in the city and save some bucks, but continue my spectacular experience at Blackberry Farm into NYC. It’s all in the culinary changes!
