Mimosas? Check. Buttered croissants and bagels? Check. Preppy attire? Check!
By the looks of it, an outsider would have thought the pre-party at my apartment was for Nashville’s popular Steeplechase event held each Spring. Not this morning. Instead we were preparing for New York’s fourth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Govenor’s Island. Southern style!
Nashville girls!
Since it was going to be a long day of polo matches, I decided that a mix of croissants, muffins, fruit, Kashi GoLean Crunch, and banana bread smothered with Sarabeth’s famous strawberry jam would be perfect for the guests that reached to around forty people! Friends added to the selection by bringing assorted bagels from Bagels on the Square and homemade brownies with vanilla icing! All so delectable and such a yummy way to wake up for this exciting day.
The pre-party was the highlight of my day not only because I was with all of my good friends, but because the actual Polo Classic ran out of champagne when we arrived…yikes! Poor planning, but it didn’t stop our group. Can’t wait until next year!
